Greg McFarlane for Old Kildonan
About Greg McFarlane
Almost lifelong Old Kildonan resident who has spent decades showing up for his neighbours.
Rooted in Old Kildonan
Greg McFarlane has called Old Kildonan home almost his entire life. He has been watching his children grow up in this area and has watched the neighborhood grow and change over the decades — the good and the not-so-good.
That deep connection to the community is what drives Greg's campaign. He isn't running because he wants a political career. He's running because he loves Old Kildonan and believes its residents deserve a councillor who actually listens.
What Greg Stands For
Listening First
Every decision starts with hearing from residents. Greg holds regular community conversations and responds personally to every message he receives.
Getting Things Done
Greg has a track record of following through. When he commits to something, he sees it through — no empty promises, no forgotten pledges.
Community Over Politics
Greg puts Old Kildonan's needs ahead of party lines or political games. His loyalty is to the neighbourhood, full stop.
Full Transparency
Residents deserve to know how decisions are made and how their tax dollars are spent. Greg is committed to open, accountable leadership.
A Lifetime of Community Involvement
Long before this campaign, Greg was already showing up. He has volunteered with local organizations, attended countless community meetings, and advocated for Old Kildonan at every level. For more than a decade, Greg has served as a Trustee with the Seven Oaks School Division, including as Chair, Vice-Chair, Chair of the Policy Committee, Chair of the Negotiations Committee, and Regional Director with the Manitoba School Boards Association. During that time, he has worked to support students, families, and educators while ensuring public resources are managed responsibly.
He knows the issues because he has lived them — the potholes on his street, the park that needs attention, the neighbours who feel unheard at City Hall. That lived experience is something no briefing note can replace.
